FAQ's

At Victoria Walker Boutique we are dedicated to answering your questions. We hope these common questions answer all of your needs. If not, simply email us at info@victoriawalkerboutique.com

  • I have an idea for a design, can you make it?

Yes! At Victoria Walker Boutique all items are designed and handcrafted especially for you. If you already have your own design inspiration then simply email your photos or ideas to info@victoriawalkerboutique.com or drop in to see us and we'll get started on the design. There is no extra charge for design work or consultations.

  • I've seen that you make memorial/breastmilk jewellery, how do i go about placing an order with you?

If you Live locally to the Boutique the best option is to come to the shop to see all the products I can make and have a bespoke piece designed especially for you. That way I can get exact measurements and explain more about the process in person for you.

If you don't live locally, I'm happy to arrange zoom calls or speak to you about your order via email on by phone. I work with clients all over the world so I'm used to designing pieces and creating unique orders in this way.

  • How do I get my breastmilk/ashes to you for my order?

Upon placing an order with the Boutique you will be given an ashes pack or details about how to send or bring your inclusions for your jewellery to me. If you'd like to bring them to your appointment with you that's absolutely fine- I require one spoonful of ashes to create an order (this is usually enough for multiple orders). Ashes can be brought in the original urn/scatter tube and I can take what I need whilst I'm with you at your appointment. Breastmilk can be brought in a milk bag or small container- this does not need to be freshly pumped. Since the breast milk won’t be consumed, it doesn’t need to be refrigerated or frozen when shipped. I require 1 teaspoon to 1/2 an ounce of milk to create a piece of jewellery.

  • Ashes in glass or resin?

In 2022 I launched the full silver and gold cast collection, this is where your loved ones ashes are encapsulated in the metal, or under a stone rather than using resin casts. This is the preffered option for anyone wanting to wear their jewellery every single day.

Resin is a great way to preserve breastmilk, hair or ashes but it does need to be looked after properly. To help protect your jewellery we recommend removing it before sleeping, excersising, cleaning and showering to avoid accidental damage. Please avoid getting perfumes and cosmetic (or chemical) products onto your memorial jewellery as the resin cast is sensitive and may become damaged if in contact with extreme heat or harsh chemicals such as hand sanitiser.

  • How does a Glass memorial or breastmilk piece work?

Essentially its created in the same way as our regular resin jewellery, so the ashes, Hair or Milk is preserved in a special compound directly in the resin. This is then sealed with a glass lid to give the resin extra protection it needs from daily elements.

  • My resin jewellery has gone cloudy, what can I do?

Unfortunately, cloudy resin or a rough texture to the top of your jewellery means its sadly come in contact with too much water, heat or a chemical. We can re-set your jewellery which will encase the resin in a new layer, but a small fee will be applicable for this service.

  • I'd like some memorial jewellery making, but I don't want to see the ashes, is that possible?

Yes Absolutely. Seeing the ashes gives some customers great comfort, but I appreciate its not for everyone. A coloured compound can be added to the ashes to help conceal them in our resin pieces, or they can be added to one of our closed cup silver and gold pieces or under a stone. For more information regarding this service please contact Victoria via email; info@victoriwalkerboutique.com

  • I've seen a piece of memorial jewellery on another website but I'd prefer you to make it, is that possible?

Due to copyright reasons, we can't copy another designers jewellery, nor would we want to- in the same way we wouldn't want anyone to copy ours. But we can create designs for you based on ideas you already have. We just need to add our own touch of magic to make it our own personal design!

  • I've seen a bespoke piece of jewellery on your social media pages, but its not online can you make it for me?

Yes, absolutely. Unfortunately we don't get time to share and upload every item we make online to our website so social media is a great way to see all of our latest most recent makes. Feel free to tag me in a post you like, or email me with a photo of something we've posted and I'll be happy to send a quote.

  • There's a photo on your social media page but no price, why's that?

A lot of the jewellery I create is a bespoke gift for a loved one, so we try to keep bespoke prices off line as much as possible so the person recieveing the gift doesn't see! As a rough guide Bespoke silver jewellery starts at around £75, memorial jewellery starts at around £150. Simply message or email me for a quote for anything you've seen that you like.

  • I've seen something on your website but it looks like its only available in silver, do you do them in gold?

Yes! As our jewellery is handcrafted we can pretty much make any of the designs you see in Silver, or gold. Just message or email me for more info!

  • How do I look after my VWB Jewellery?

In order to keep your items in perfect condition please store them in their individual gift packaging. This will avoid scratching and tarnishing. Avoid contact with perfume or hairspray around your products as this can affect the sparkle of the crystal and discolour the natural stones. If silver tarnishes, it can be cleaned up using a silver cloth (a soft cloth impregnated with a silver polish)

  • I'm not sure which colour Crystal and Pearl to go for can you help?

Yes, we work very closely with individual dress designers and hold a large variation of Crystals and pearls in stock, simply add your chosen Tiara or piece of Jewellery to your shopping basket and choose the Bespoke colour option. We'll then contact you to discuss your colour requirements and to arrange a colour swatch test. If you don't live locally to the boutique we'll post out a small sample of crystals or pearls so you can choose them at your own leisure.

  • What is your returns policy?

Due to the handmade nature of the items we do not accept returned products. In the unlikely event that your order is damaged or faulty in any way when it reaches you, I will arrange to replace it to the value of your purchase as long as you email me within 24hours of delivery at info@victoriawalkerboutique.com and return the item to me in its original packaging within seven days of receipt. Unfortunately I cannot refund the postage costs. We do not accept refunds for unwanted jewellery/gifts.

  • How will be goods be packed?

We package all goods over £16 (where size permits) in bespoke Victoria Walker Boutique black boxes with a branded gift bag. If you are purchasing more than one item from the tiara and jewellery range the order will be sent in one gift box unless you choose to order additional boxes. You can have each item separately wrapped and packaged by ordering additional boxes- please contact Victoria for more information.

  • What are your shipping costs?

There is no minimum order charge, and postal prices start at just £3.95. Every effort is made to package up all items in such  a way as to ensure that they arrive with you in perfect condition. I aim to despatch within 10-14 working days of receipt of payment however this may be slightly longer during busy periods. The parcel will be shipped according to the shipment instruction that you provide with the order. Where possible I try to accommodate last minute requests. Please contact me with your requirements and I can discuss your needs in greater detail.

Our shipping rates are based on the total of your order however you have the option to upgrade your shipping choice at checkout:

Special delivery (fully insured delivery with Royal Mail) £8.95

Standard Delivery- 1st class signed for requires a signature upon arrival £4.95

First class royal mail- not insured, no signature required £3.90

  • I've seen you at a Wedding show, but the piece I tried on isn't online, can I still buy it?

Yes, not all items are available online as our product range is constantly evolving and changing but the full collection is available to try at the Boutique in Leeds. Please contact Victoria to discuss your requirements.

  • I have a photo of my dress, can you design something by looking at the photo?

Yes this is our favourite way to work. Seeing a photo of how you'll be wearing your hair on the day or an image of your chosen gown is the best way to start the whole design process. Simply email the Boutique or pop in for a consultation.

  • Can I come to see you during the week or on an evening?

I currently offer evening appointments on a Thursday until 6pm. Mid week design appointments are currently being held Tuesday to Friday from 10am to 5pm. Please call prior to arriving to secure a booking with Victoria.

  • Why do I need to pay a deposit?

On all bespoke orders you will be required to pay a deposit to secure your order, this is so that I can source the right materials to create your Jewellery. Please note that deposits on bespoke orders are non refundable, however they can be used as credit notes towards other items. In the un-likely event that you aren't happy with your Bespoke items we'll do our very best to alter your chosen accessories until they're 100% perfect for you!

  • What are the ring size measurements?

    Xsmall: L-M

    Small: N-O

    Medium: P-Q
